Andreas Moskin presents THE THEATRE OF LIGHT, a capsule collection of men’s and women’s eveningwear devoted to the art of celebration, to individuality and to the special moments that shape our personal story. The collection draws on the work of American theatre director and artist Robert Wilson, known for his pioneering approach to light, space, movement and stage composition.
In Wilson’s productions, light goes beyond its traditional role on stage. It becomes a dramatic element in its own right, able to change how we perceive space, the human body and even the smallest movement. A silhouette emerging on the edge of light and shadow turns into an expressive composition in which every line, gesture and pause takes on a particular meaning.
This principle became the starting point for THE THEATRE OF LIGHT: how can clothing create a sense of presence in which a person becomes the central figure of their own story?
«We were inspired by Robert Wilson’s approach to stage space, where light, shadow and silhouette can tell a story without words. We wanted to bring that principle into the evening wardrobe: to create looks that change with light, movement and the presence of the person wearing them. For us, this collection is about the moments when everyone becomes the lead in their own story, and clothing helps to bring out that presence.»
The collection reimagines the stage as a metaphor for life’s special moments. Formal evenings, gatherings, celebrations and personal victories become stages of their own, where everyone can express their individuality. For Andreas Moskin, celebration is more than an occasion or a dress code. It is a chance to give a moment meaning, to allow yourself to be more expressive and to feel the freedom of your own presence.
At the heart of THE THEATRE OF LIGHT is the classic suit architecture that defines Andreas Moskin, reinterpreted through the language of contemporary eveningwear. Exaggerated shoulders, sharp lines, a defined waist and sculptural lapels shape silhouettes that stay expressive even in half-light. Like Wilson’s stage compositions, where the human figure becomes part of the visual drama, the construction of each garment determines how a person is perceived in space.
The men’s suits stand out for their architectural proportions, contrasting lapels and graphic lines. In the women’s looks, the rigour of tailoring meets sensuality: structured jackets are paired with open lines of the body, sculptural constructions with the fluidity of evening dresses. Each look is built around a single expressive element that defines the character of the whole silhouette.
The interplay of materials and light plays a special role. Suiting wool creates clean lines and the architectural base of each look. Velvet absorbs light, adding depth of colour and soft transitions between lit and shaded planes. Feathers, by contrast, respond to the slightest movement, shifting the outline of the silhouette and giving it energy. It is this contrast of textures that lets every look reveal itself differently with light and motion.
The palette is built around black and deep red. Black forms the graphic base of the silhouettes, underlining clean construction and architectural rigour. Red becomes a striking accent, appearing on lapels, suit details and evening dresses. Under light, the two colours create a dramatic contrast that recalls the aesthetics of the stage, where a single lit element can change how the whole composition is seen.
A key part of THE THEATRE OF LIGHT is the dialogue between the men’s and women’s wardrobes. United by a shared architectural language, they each reveal modern evening elegance in their own way. The rigour of the men’s suit becomes expressive, while the women’s silhouettes combine the strength of construction with the natural fluidity of the body. Through this interplay, Andreas Moskin explores an individuality that need not conform to traditional ideas of evening dress.
THE THEATRE OF LIGHT continues the brand’s ongoing exploration of the suit as a tool of visual transformation. In the new collection, clothing does more than flatter the figure: it creates a space of its own around it, interacting with light and movement to shape a striking image of presence.
